5th AVL Large Engines Techdays

Conference theme: Challenge "Emission"
Emissions continue to be the "prime mover" of the large engine industry. The time for questioning has passed, new technologies are a must. The industry is facing complex and challenging development agendas. With emission legislation implementation dates approaching fast, there is an end-spurt perception. These are all reasons enough for AVL to dedicate the 5th AVL Large Engine TechDays to "Emissions". Renowned key-note speakers will open the conference by sharing views and opinions in this field. The traditional panel discussion at the end of the conference will engage the audience in lively dialog with the panellists, well-known personalities from the industry. The technical sessions will provide an information exchange platform, focusing on major key topics.

Aftertreatment and Exhaust Gas Recirculation
The industry's interest in aftertreatment solutions is significant, as this technology is novel for many large engine applications. EGR is an engine-contained solution but imposes specific challenges. The conference offers decision makers from OEMs and suppliers the chance to express their views and inform on solutions for these important technologies.

Gas and Dual-Fuel
Gaseous fuels enable emission compliance and can enhance product value, when used as a second fuel on the same engine. New gas and dual-fuel engines will be introduced, while established gas engine applications are being continuously improved. The conference is an invitation to the industry to share information on gas and dual-fuel engine technology, products and applications.

Emissions 2020
What comes next? Although the industry is busy developing and implementing short-term solutions for the mid of the current decade, we are encouraging presenters to scrutinize the likely next emissions regulatory steps and their business and product impact.
