Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing on Track for their 100th Win with MSC.Software
MSC.Software, global provider of enterprise simulation solutions, today announced that Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing (NHLR), the Champ Car World Series Champions for three years running, is on track to celebrate their 100th win in part due to their use of MSC.Software's Adams to tune and optimize race car chassis and suspension performance for a race. By using Adams to run simulations of the car on the track based on data collected from actual test runs, the team is able to make adjustments that improve the speed and handling of the vehicle.
"MSC.Software has been a part of our engineering efforts for more than ten years," said Brian Lisles, general manager for the recently renamed racing team. "Their simulation software plays a crucial role in our ongoing success and is very much a part of the way we go racing." Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing LLC, owned by actor/race car driver Paul Newman, racing entrepreneur Carl A. Haas and businessman Michael Lanigan, is the most successful team competing in the Champ Car World Series. Under a newly revised name, the team began their milestone 25th season in Champ Car competition in 2007 and will attempt to add to the seven championships, 97 race wins and 100 pole positions earned by Newman/Haas Racing.
