Abstract

This article provides a complete summary of leadership theory based on empirical research papers that focus primarily on educational leadership styles. We focused on the following categories in our meta-analysis: (1) the role of leadership, (2) the influence of leadership on academic institutions, and (3) the research method for leadership. Our findings imply that it is worthwhile to investigate new models of leadership that can better match the student development with the requirements of an increasingly digitalized business world. In this paper, we suggest an exploratory sequential design study of digital leadership and provide a new definition of digital leadership. This is owing to the lack of methodological specificity in the existing leadership studies academic literature.
